Look for Humane Certifications

To become humane certified, farms must raise animals in a way that meets ethical and humane standards set by reputable, third-party certifying organizations. Some certifying bodies include: American Humane Certified, Certified Humane, and Animal Welfare Approved. Be on the look out for their logos on your next shopping trip! To take it a step further, you can also ask your local grocery store to bring in more items from humane certified brands!

Buy Organic

Food that is organic is produced without the use of growth hormones, antibiotics, pesticides, or any synthetic chemicals. Animals raised organically must have healthy living conditions and must be fed organic food. If you see an organic certification on an animal-based food product, you can be sure that the animal was treated humanely!
